Yes, we know we will never reach the perfect state, but the bliss created by the repeated act of trying to come as close to it as possible, in itself, is reason enough not to quit.
For some, the essence of life is love for one's art. Some live for the love of their devoted companionss; pets offering unconditional love. There exists a convergence of these two subsets of devoted individuals. And they meet here at The Artists' Forum.
Like the most awe-inspiring fractal patterns, and the most lyrical poems you have ever read, this Forum can grow into something intrinsically beautiful if we contributre and nurture it, not with money, but by what we already have: simple devotion to our art and our pets. All stories, poems, articles, and links to your ORIGINAL videos, photos and music are welcome features. Do not send anything but texts or links to another site. Your video or music file should be on your website or on a provider like youtube or facebook. No monetary compensation is available at the moment, but you will have the opportunity to get your by-line for being featured in a reputable establishment. “Saved”
I went to the shelter to save a life…
A dog or cat, --whatever was meant to be—
I would see who looked so lonely and lost,
rescue a soul and set them free…
But I found they all looked as sad as I was.
They all needed a home of their own.
I saw in their eyes the way I had felt,
so empty and lost and alone.
One gentle creature seemed meant for my arms.
I almost think she chose me that day.
Who knew she would bring such life to my home--
--Teach me to laugh, and love and play….
I go home now to the scamper of paws…
Warm hugs and eager affection….
Fun little toys that are dropped at my feet—
My friend has quite a collection!
I think back now to that day at the pound,
I know what I set out to do…
But seeing how much my life has been changed,
I wonder now: Who saved who?
