Bob - Our Resident Cat
When you finally meet our beloved kitty, you will fully understand why he gets top billing. Sometimes he is the first one to say hello to you if everyone else is helping another client or patient. He sits on top of the computer, just waiting to be petted. He has been here for more than ten years and would not want to be anywhere else since being rescued. If you are allergic to cats, just let us know. We will put a note on our computer system so that we can secure him as soon as you walk in. Because when he walks up to you, he is only trying to do his job! Some clients still drive 30 minutes just to visit with him.
Rachel Jones - Hospital Manager and Technician
With 6 years of experience in the field of pet care, Rachel works hard daily to make sure that your pets receive only the best care. She is responsible for the smooth delivery of service in the whole hospital. She is working full time yet puts enough drive and energy into completing her Bachelor's degree. She shares home with husband Ian, Annabell (a Beagle), Turkish (Heeler), Obie (a real wolf-dog!), and of course: 2 snakes. And these Boas have names too: Nyx (Colombian Red Tail) and Archie (Brazilian Rainbow).
Kristi Orta - Veterinary Technician
Kristi has three Labradors (Sadie, Chevy, and Triever), a new Heeler puppy, and two cats (Racer and Snoopy). She has been with us for three years. She has an Associates degree and is currently working on a Bachelor's at UTD. She is in-charge of our client-connection program that has been crucial to sending important announcement that might affect your pet's health (see Feedback).
Joey Robinson - Veterinary Technician
Four years ago, Joey spent a year of internship with us under PESH's veterinary technology program. Spending hours of fun petting puppies instead of sitting in the classroom must have been like heaven for him. Of course he also had to take out the trash, wash dishes, and eventually collect blood samples, etc. The volumes of books and training videos the doctor made him study was not as enjoyable as puppy-time. But he persevered and worked hard; and now he is really one of us. He turned out to be a natural-born leader and helps the next generation of senior high school students complete their clinical rotations to prepare them for a rewarding career in pet care or agriculture. He has since trained 3 students: one is now an Aggie, another is in Quad-C and Clarissa is on her way to graduation. Joey plans to become a veterinarian. He has several Dachshunds and Chihuahuas.
Hector Carbonell, DVM - Chief-Of-Staff
"Dr. C" has close to 20 years of veterinary experience. He received post-doctoral training at Cornell University, a leader in pet care, education and cutting-edge technology. Together with wife Jessica and two fast-growing kids, they share their home with 3 pets. The family enjoys music, swimming, and community activities. Life can also revolve around the kitchen. They actively support at least 6 local school PTA's, all surrounding animal shelters, and humane rescue groups (Operation Kindness and Second Chance Dalmatian Rescue in particular). Not taking anything for granted, Dr. Carbonell feels fortunate to be a part of the community he serves. Being a former "country doctor", his staff strives to make you feel at home. You will find that this city-practice has a down-to-earth approach. The hospital prides itself of being able to handle stubborn skin and eye diseases. He is also trained and equipped for bone and soft-tissue surgeries as well as dental procedures. Countless pets have been given a new lease on life with his practical approach to everyday problems.
